The City of Vaughan celebrated the official opening today of the new YMCA child care centre at City Hall.

Following a competitive selection process, the City signed a five-year contract with the YMCA of Greater Toronto in 2013 to operate the child care centre. The 5,605-square-foot facility features program and activity rooms, staff offices and an outdoor play area. The space has been designed to reflect the YMCA’s unique play-based learning curriculum and can accommodate 52 children.

QUOTE

It’s wonderful to see this new facility become a part of our City Hall. The addition of a child care centre is a service that will be welcomed by City staff and residents, and will provide children in our community with access to high-quality licensed child care programming. The YMCA has a long history of providing quality programs for families and children and we are pleased that they are bringing this valuable service to our community.”
-Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua
