You have a role to play in keeping Vaughan clean
If you are out and about in one of the City of Vaughan’s parks, trails or neighbourhoods and you spot litter or dumped household garbage – do you know what to do next? Play a role in keeping the community safe, clean and beautiful by reporting litter to Access Vaughan by phone at 905-832-2281, by email at accessvaughan@vaughan.ca or online at vaughan.ca/ServiceVaughan.
There are many other simple steps you can take to ensure waste goes where it belongs. Follow these tips from the City:
- Use the public waste bins provided when visiting City parks or trails. Pet waste belongs in the garbage when you’re out in public spaces and in the green bin at home.
- Keep your home and surrounding area free of litter by putting waste and recyclable materials in the correct bins.
- If you’re unsure where a waste item belongs, download the Recycle Coach app through the Apple App Store or Google Play. The City also offers an online sorting tool so you can check where an item belongs.
- Take flyers and mail home to recycle.
- Drop off extra garbage you may have to a York Region Waste Depot for safe disposal.
By working together to reduce litter, you are demonstrating respect for your neighbours, neighbourhoods and shared community spaces. Let’s ensure Vaughan remains a place where residents and visitors can live, work and play in a clean and healthy city.
