StoryWalk returns to Vaughan trails this summer!

StoryWalk is back by popular demand with five new Canadian children’s books for families to explore! Brought to life by Vaughan Public Libraries (VPL) and the City of Vaughan’s Public Works teams, StoryWalk combines the joys of reading with the wonders of nature.

With each step along the trail, the story unfolds one page at a time in this immersive experience. StoryWalk is the perfect opportunity to get active outdoors with your family and friends in a place where books come to life beneath the open sky.

StoryWalk is available along the following public trails:

  • Mackenzie Glen District Park (Ward 1): Rikki, Rouquin et Rocco (French) by Ruth Ohi
  • Nort Johnson District Park (Ward 2): If You Want to Be a Butterfly by Muon Thi Van
  • Lawford Park (Ward 3): The Boy and the Banyan Tree by Mahtab Narsimhan
  • Sugarbush Heritage Park (Ward 4): All That Grows by Jack Wong
  • Marita Payne Park (Ward 5): Choose Kindness by Ruth Ohi

VPL partnered with several Canadian publishers to bring the StoryWalk program back to Vaughan. This exciting global initiative promotes literacy, health and exercise in communities around the world. And, for the first time, StoryWalk will feature a French language book this year!

When visiting a trail in your area, use the hashtag #LoveVPL on social media to share pictures and videos of your outdoor fun. Remember not to disturb or get close to wildlife while enjoying the trails.
