Zoran Postic promoted to Deputy City Manager

Mr. Postic to lead Vaughan’s Public Works Portfolio
 
Interim City Manager Tim Simmonds is pleased to announce that following a competitive public recruitment process, Zoran Postic has been promoted from Interim Deputy City Manager to the position of Deputy City Manager, Public Works, with the City of Vaughan. Mr. Postic’s first official day is May 21 which coincides with the start of National Public Works Week.
 
In this role, Mr. Postic now leads a portfolio of nearly 300 staff as well as 120 seasonal and 110 part-time professionals. The Public Works Portfolio consists of five divisions: Environmental Services; Transportation Services, Parks and Forestry Operations; Infrastructure Delivery; Infrastructure Planning and Corporate Asset Management; and Fleet Management Services.
 
Mr. Postic first joined the City in 2014 as Director, Transportation Services, Parks and Forestry Operations. He provided strategic leadership to help successfully deliver on several important front-line services that citizens, businesses and visitors to Vaughan rely on each day. These include: winter maintenance, parks, roads, traffic, horticulture, crossing guards and forestry.
 
Mr. Postic has more than 20 years of experience in government and business, including work with York Region. His career includes extensive education, training and professional development. Mr. Postic holds a Master of Business Administration from Queen’s University, a Masters Certificate (Municipal Management) from York University and a Graduate Diploma, Engineering (Transportation Engineering) from Mohawk College. 
 
Mr. Postic has volunteered his time and talent with a number of professional and charitable organizations, namely with the Ontario Good Roads Association, the Canadian Institute of Transportation Engineers, along with Big Brothers Big Sisters of York.
