Celebrate Nowruz with us on March 25!

You’re invited to join Mayor Steven Del Duca and Members of Council for the City of Vaughan’s inaugural Nowruz celebration on Monday, March 25, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at City Hall (2141 Major Mackenzie Dr.).

 

Nowruz marks the arrival of spring and unites communities around the world. It provides an opportunity to recognize the invaluable contributions of Iranian, Afghan, Kurdish, Zoroastrian, Bahá’í, Central Asian, Ismaili, Azerbaijani, Tajik and many other communities, and acknowledge their strong cultural influence in Vaughan and beyond.

Vaughan recognized as a Tree City of the World

For the third consecutive year, the City of Vaughan has been recognized as a Tree City of the World by the Arbor Day Foundation, and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. 

 

This designation – which acknowledges Vaughan as a green city, dedicated to fostering a sustainable and healthier environment – was celebrated during a special ceremonial presentation at today’s Committee of the Whole Working Session by Members of Council. 

 

Join us TOMORROW to celebrate International Women’s Day!

To recognize the significant contributions of women across generations, the City of Vaughan is hosting its annual International Women’s Day event tomorrow at City Hall (2141 Major Mackenzie Dr.). Join us from 9 a.m. to noon for a morning of learning, connecting and entertainment.

 

International Women’s Day is a global celebration, acknowledging and honouring women’s achievements and challenges. It’s also an opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to removing barriers to advance gender equality in our communities.

Schulich Charity Fashion Show

Every year, SCA proudly hosts the Schulich Charity Fashion Week, a week-long series of events consisting of a launch party, fashion industry panel, and the fashion show. Modelled by fellow university students, the show features an eclectic collection of designers and all proceeds have benefited Make-A-Wish Toronto and Central Ontario. Over the years, SCFW has raised an astounding $147,000 to fund numerous children’s wishes.
