Vaughan’s Sisters in Spirit Vigil is on Oct. 4
The City of Vaughan has proclaimed Oct. 4 Sisters in Spirit Day. It is a day of somber reflection to honour the lives of missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls and 2-Spirit people in Canada. In commemoration of the day, the City is hosting a Sisters in Spirit Vigil on Wednesday, Oct. 4 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the courtyard outside Vaughan City Hall (2141 Major Mackenzie Dr.).

When land undergoes development, the first step is usually grading and excavating soil – but who and what determines how that work is managed and where all that dug-up dirt goes? The City of Vaughan is developing a Site Alteration By-law to regulate this activity, including managing excess soil and addressing non-compliance city-wide.
Attend the Official Plan Review Open House on Sept. 26
Through the Official Plan Review, the City is helping to shape the future of Vaughan. The review is well underway – and the updated plan is one step closer to completion. As part of its development, the draft Part A Official Plan Amendment has been released. This is the first of a two-part formal document detailing updates to the City’s existing Official Plan.
