More Information About Pedestrian Crossovers
Pedestrian crossovers are designated areas for pedestrians to safely cross the road. All vehicles and bicycles must stop and yield the entire roadway. The crossovers are identified by specific signs, pavement markings and lights. Some have illuminated overhead lights and pedestrian push buttons.
Pedestrian crossovers fall under three different types: Type B, Type C and Type D.
Type B
- lines that mark the crossing area
- outlines where motorists and cyclists should stop
- roadside signs
- flashing lights
- overhead signs
Type C
- lines that mark the crossing area
- outlines where motorists and cyclists should stop
- roadside signs
- flashing lights
Type D
- lines that mark the crossing area
- outlines where motorists and cyclists should stop
- roadside signs
