Looking to beat the heat in Vaughan this week? With a heat warning in effect for Vaughan and the GTA, and temperatures expected to be above 30 degrees Celsius with humidex values of 40 degrees Celsius, the City is reminding residents there are many places to cool off.

The City’s 10 community centres offer air-conditioned public spaces, washrooms and change rooms, as well as water-bottle filling stations. They will be open during regularly scheduled hours. A full list of community centres and their hours of operation can be found at vaughan.ca.

The City’s indoor and outdoor pools and splash pads also offer a great way to stay cool in the heat. Vaughan has 17 outdoor splash pads throughout Maple, Thornhill and Woodbridge. They are open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. The Thornhill Outdoor Pool will be open until 10 p.m. through Friday, July 31.
