'Being Jewish in Ontario: A Pictorial Celebration'

In celebration of Jewish Heritage Month, a pictorial exhibit organized by the United Jewish Appeal, Federation of Greater Toronto’s Ontario Jewish Archives and the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs is on display at Vaughan City Hall, 2141 Major Mackenzie Drive.
 
The exhibit, entitled Being Jewish in Ontario: A Pictorial Celebration, focuses on the traditions, diversity, and multiplicity of Jewish life. Themes explored include: Community Builders; Culture and Leisure; Ritual and Observance; Teaching and Learning and Tikkun Olam. The exhibit is open for public viewing from May 1 to 17,  Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to  8 p.m., in the main atrium at Vaughan City Hall.
 
Jewish Heritage Month is celebrated in May in the province of Ontario and recognizes the important contributions that Jewish Canadians have made to Ontario’s social, economic, political and cultural fabric. Jewish Heritage Month is an opportunity to remember, celebrate and educate future generations about the inspirational role that Jewish Canadians have played, and continue to play, in communities across Ontario.
