FREE fun activities for youth from May 1 to 7

Every May, the City of Vaughan celebrates youth and their active participation in our community. Whether it’s through contributions to recreation, drama, sports, volunteering, dance or art, National Youth Week is a time to honour Vaughan’s young leaders.

From Monday, May 1 to Sunday, May 7, the City is hosting a variety of free activities for youth ages 10 to 17 at select community centres and facilities. Join in! Pre-registration is recommended and is now available at vaughan.perfectmind.com (under City Special Events).

In addition to registered programs, youth will have access to free drop-in activities, including recreational swimming, sports and game rooms throughout the week.

This year’s weeklong celebrations will kick off with a Rock & Rollerblading Party on Monday, May 1 from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Al Palladini Community Centre (9201 Islington Ave.) and will end with a Pool Wrap Party on Sunday, May 7 from 1:45 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. at Vellore Village Community Centre (1 Villa Royale Ave.)

Throughout the week, youth ages 13 to 17 will also have free access to all Vaughan Fitness Centres. Pre-registration is not required to use the facilities, however, signed parental consent is mandatory – this can be done at the front desk when you sign in. For more information about locations and amenities, visit vaughan.ca/fitness.
