City Hosts Third Annual Sports Congress at Vaughan City Hall
Oct. 25, 2013
The City of Vaughan
held its third annual Sports Congress at Vaughan City Hall on Oct. 23 to give
community sports organizations an opportunity to provide feedback on local
sports needs and to share best practices in managing their leagues.
Adult and minor sports organization administrators heard from a number of guest speakers at the session. Topics discussed included emergency management for sports teams, from severe weather to power outages, as well as minimizing risk in sport through identification, control and mitigation.
Vaughan’s annual Sports Congress and public engagement opportunities throughout the year play an integral role in the City’s efforts to keep its Active Together Master Plan successful and community-driven. The plan identifies current and future needs for parks, recreation and library facilities, and works to ensure that City services and facilities meet the needs of residents to 2031 and beyond.
