City Of Vaughan Municipal Election Nominations Open Today
The City Clerk’s office will receive nominations for the 2014 municipal election from Jan. 2 to Sept. 12, 2014 for the offices of Mayor, Local and Regional Councillor, Ward Councillor and Trustees for the York Region District School Board and the York Catholic District School Board.
Voting day is Oct. 27, 2014. The term of office runs from Dec. 1, 2014 to Nov. 30, 2018. Candidates are requested to make an appointment to file their nomination paper by calling 905-832-8585 ext. 8241. Candidates must provide proof of qualifying address and pay the appropriate filing fee. Complete information about the nomination process and the nomination paper is available on the City's website at www.vaughan.ca/elections.
The last day to file a nomination paper is Sept. 12, 2014 between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Candidates may not solicit or accept contributions for election purposes or incur campaign expenses until they have registered with the City Clerk.
