Explore new places to play in Vaughan!
Summit Park, Maple Station Park and more are now open for the community to enjoy
Vaughan residents can now get their play on at new parks throughout the community! Tonight, official opening celebrations were held for Summit Park and Maple Station Park. The events featured ribbon-cutting ceremonies, official remarks from Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua and Members of Council, on-site interactive DJs and free ice cream. Thank you to everyone who joined in on the fun.
Whether it be sliding, swinging, climbing or crawling, the new parks offer plenty of space to run around, gather and play. Learn more about the parks below:
MAPLE STATION PARK
Location: 32 Salterton Cir.
New features: Play features include two separate accessible playground areas, swing sets and bike racks. Park furnishings, such as seating, benches, a shade structure and picnic tables, are also available. Accessibility improvements have been made to the walkway.
SUMMIT PARK
Location: 209 Kleinburg Summit Way
New features: Play features include a playground area, soccer field and basketball court. Park furnishings, such as a gazebo, are available for leisure and new walkways have been installed for increased access and convenience.
In addition to these parks, residents can now #PlayVaughanLocal at several others that have also been recently enhanced or constructed. These include:
- Carrying Place Common (331 Kleinburg Summit Way)
- Butterfly Heights Park (1 Butterfly Heights)
- Boulevard Park (2 The Boulevard)
- Glenngarry Square (100 Eagle Rock Way)
- Crimson Forest Common (80 Crimson Forest Dr.)
This growing list of outdoor play spaces further aligns with Vaughan’s commitment to fostering active, safe and diverse communities that are environmentally sustainable and inclusive, a priority in the 2018-2022 Term of Council Service Excellence Strategic Plan.
