Have you thought about adding a pet to your family but aren’t sure where to start? Make the Vaughan Animal Shelter your first stop!

On Sunday, Nov. 12, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Vaughan Animal Services is hosting an adopt-a-thon at 70 Tigi Crt., Unit 47 for animals in our care. There are cats and dogs in need of a loving home. Come meet them – there’s no appointment needed!

Adoption fees:

  • Cats under one year old - $150
  • Cats aged one year or older - $100
  • Dogs - $200

Fees include first annual and rabies vaccines, sterilization, microchip implant, and the first annual

pet licence (for Vaughan residents only). Debit and credit accepted. Cash will not be accepted.

Cat adoptions

If you’re ready to care for a cat, you won’t have to wait to bring them to their new ‘fur-ever’ home! To adopt, you must be over the age of 18 years old, have a government ID and a carrier to safely transport your new feline family member home that day.

Dog adoptions

Perhaps you’d prefer to welcome a dog into your family. The adoption process is a little different. You will be required to have a meet and greet with everyone in your household and the dog and submit an adoption application for review. If your application is approved, you will be notified within the week, and an appointment will be booked for you to pick up your dog.

Don’t wait until the adopt-a-thon to see which pets are hoping to meet you. Check out the City’s online list of dogscats and small animals available for adoption.
