‘Happy Canada Day, Vaughan’
Planning is well underway for the City of Vaughan’s first-ever virtual Canada Day celebration. As part of the festivities, the City is asking interested residents and businesses to submit a three- to-seven second video message wishing the community a “happy Canada Day.”
The recordings will be put together and shared during the virtual event taking place on Wednesday, July 1 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. To submit a video message to be included in the compilation, email it to vaughancelebrates@vaughan.ca with the subject “We’re Celebrating Canada Day with Vaughan!” The deadline for submissions is Monday, June 15.
The virtual Canada Day event will allow residents to mark this popular and much-anticipated event safely from the comfort of their homes. More information will follow about featured programming and entertainment. For information, visit vaughan.ca/CanadaDay.
The decision to hold a virtual 2020 Canada Day event is one of the many precautionary measures taken by the City to protect the health of residents throughout the global COVID-19 pandemic.
