Check City facility closures before making plans

Take a break from back-to-school preparations and make the most of the last long weekend of the summer. City of Vaughan municipal offices and community centres will be closed on Monday, Sept. 4 for the holiday, but don’t worry – the city still has plenty to offer. Here are some activities for fun and relaxation during the Labour Day weekend:
 
 
Before making your plans, check out the City’s facility closures:
  • Vaughan City Hall, the Joint Operations Centre and Vaughan Animal Services will be closed on Monday, Sept. 4.
  • Vaughan community centres and swimming pools will be closed on Monday, Sept. 4, except for the Thornhill Outdoor Pool, which will be open from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. for length swim and parent and tot swim, and from 12:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. for recreational swimming.
  • Vaughan Public Libraries will be closed on Sunday, Sept. 3 and Monday, Sept. 4.
 
Reminders:
  • Waste collection will not be affected and will continue as regularly scheduled.
  • The City of Vaughan has a fireworks by-law that allows family fireworks on Victoria Day and Canada Day only. For displays on other days, residents must apply for a permit from Vaughan Fire and Rescue Service.
