Join the community event at North Maple Regional Park!
Sunday, July 28 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
What activities, programming and amenities would you like to see in North Maple Regional Park (NMRP)? Tell us by coming to the park on Sunday, July 28!
This family-friendly community event will take place in the park (located at 11067 Keele St.) from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and here’s what you can do on-site:
Learn about the Master Plan: We’re developing the NMRP Master Plan to outline long-term development, programming and management for the full 900-acre site. Our vision for NMRP includes conducting environmental work to restore the land, and creating greenspaces, trails, amenities and recreation areas to be enjoyed for generations to come. Learn more about our vision (and share yours!) at the Information Station, where you can speak to the team developing the Master Plan.
Get a NMRP passport: A “passport” will be handed out as you arrive at the event. The passport outlines each activity available and provides a placeholder for stamps, which will be collected as you visit each station. Free ice cream will be given out for complete passports!
Build your dream park: A large tabletop map of the park becomes the base for a collaborative mapping activity. You can select (or draw your own) park elements, programs and activities to add to the map, building the NMRP of your dreams.
Get crafty: Through an individual activity sheet, you can craft, collage, draw or write about your dream day in NMRP. Completed sheets will be displayed for all to see!
Play in the Kids Zone: An area just for kids to have fun, all while learning about the park! There will be music, a balloon artist, educational activities and outdoor games, such as bubbles, hula hoops, corn hole and more!
Go on a hike: Join a guided walking tour through the park with educational touchpoints along the way. A journey map will be provided so you can write your ideas for future activities and amenities as you explore.
Limited parking is available at the park. Additional parking is provided at St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Elementary School (131 Ravine Dr.).
Can’t attend the event? You can still have a say in the NMRP Master Plan! Here’s how:
Join the community advisory committee
A NMRP Community Advisory Committee is being created, which will include up to 25 members from the public who will act as an advisory panel to provide feedback that will help shape the future of the park. The group will meet four times throughout the planning process.
