Join us for the ultimate P.A. Day adventures

Registration is open for fun activities on Sept. 22

A day off school doesn’t have to mean a day without learning – or fun! The City of Vaughan is offering programs and camps during the upcoming P.A. Day on Friday, Sept. 22 for kids aged three to 14 years old at select community centres and the Vaughan Studios & Event Space. Pre-registration is required at vaughan.perfectmind.com.

Programs and camps include:

Disney Inspired Fitness Fun (for ages three to five years old)
Bring some magic to your workout with Disney-inspired exercises! Get up and move, stretch, jog and jump to Disney music. Giggles and dressing like your favourite Disney character are encouraged.

Hands on Robotics (for ages six to nine years old)

Build several LEGO® robots based on one of these themes: animals (creatures of all kinds) or transportation (cars/vehicles). Grasp concepts on building structures, sensors and gearing, and learn fun facts about the robots along the way.

Roblox Game Design: Mario Galaxy (for ages nine to 14 years old)
Delivered in partnership with Logic Fusion
Let's-a go! Jump into Roblox Studio to design your own Mario Galaxy-style game, creating brand new worlds you can play in with your friends and family! Build a Mario Galaxy-like 3D platform game where Mario will have to beat smart enemies, overcome obstacles and earn power-ups.

Paint Your Own Pottery Workshop: Piggy Bank (for ages three to 14 years old)

Delivered in partnership with Mess for Fun

Are you all fired up to create beautiful art on your day off school? Paint your own one-of-a-kind piece of pottery. Apply your unique artistic style with paint and leave your finished creative gem with us. Afterward, we will glaze and fire your pottery in a kiln. The completed masterpiece will be packaged and ready for pick-up the following week at your local community centre.

School’s Out! (for ages seven to 12 years old)

Looking for a fun way to spend your P.A. Day? Enjoy a day of camp activities, including games, sports, arts and crafts, outdoor play and special events while making new friends!

Stop Motion Animation (for ages seven to 12 years old)
Action, adventure and a lot of comedy await in this Claymation and Lego animation workshop! Mentored by master filmmakers, engage in hands-on exploration of the stop motion animation process, including pre-production, production and post-production. Working in small crews, learn about set design, script writing and editing.

Train Like a Superhero! (for ages three to five years old)

Run as fast as Flash! Smash calories like She-Hulk! Jump as far as Spider-Man! Small but mighty superhero fans will have fun exercising to the movements (and powers!) of their favourite superheroes. They’ll build strength, better balance and co-ordination and burn energy. Dressing like a superhero (wearing a costume) is optional but encouraged.
