Keep your lights shining bright!

Submit a nomination for the Festive Lights program by Feb. 1

The holidays may be over, but that doesn’t mean you need to take your decorations down just yet! Residents and businesses in Vaughan are invited to nominate themselves, a neighbour or a business whose lights continue to shine bright. 

The City’s new Festive Lights program will recognize those who go above and beyond to decorate their homes and properties with exceptional pride in their light displays. The program provides an opportunity for residents to celebrate each other’s cultures and Vaughan’s diversity. 

Nominations can be emailed to festivecelebrations@vaughan.ca by Thursday, Feb. 1, and should include the property owner’s name, address and photos of their festive lights. Entries will be scored based on the following criteria: 

• Design incorporates the use of energy-efficient lights.
• Overall esthetic of the property is visually appealing.
• Property uses lights and decorations.
• Property shows creativity in design.
• Property is well maintained.

Those selected will be contacted to pick up a Festive Lights sign at their local community centre to display on their front lawn or window.
