Ironstone Park

A new place to play is coming to Vaughan – Ironstone Square!

Located at 5 Bass Pro Mills Dr., this urban neighbourhood park is the latest part of a phased residential development in the Vaughan Mills community.

The park is 1.6 hectares in size, bounded by Fishermens Way to the northwest, Jane Street to the east, the recent extension of Bass Pro Mills Drive to the south and a future extension to Romina Drive to the west. It is also conveniently located southeast of the Vaughan Mills Shopping Centre and a major transit hub that connects to the mall at Riverock Gate and Fishermens Way.

Amenities will include:

  • accessible walking paths with tree shade and seating
  • a large central lawn
  • a multi-use sports court for soccer and basketball
  • a plaza with seating areas, shade canopy and raised planting beds
  • a waterplay area
  • illuminated artwork
  • junior and senior playgrounds
  • naturalized planting areas with native and drought-resistant plants (plants with low water requirements)

In addition, a new public indoor recreation space will open on the main floor of one of the new residential towers being built adjacent to the square – this space will be available for public use, be accessible from the park and have complementary uses, such as public washrooms and a community space.
