Limited spots remain for Vaughan’s March Break camps!

March Break is right around the corner! Check out the Winter Recreation eGuide to view all of the exciting camps the City of Vaughan has to offer and register online at vaughan.perfectmind.com while spots remain.

 

Kids can experience March Break to the max with five fun-filled days of activities! Camps run at select community centres and the Vaughan Studios & Event Space for kids ages four to 14 years old from Monday, March 10 through Friday, March 14 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Flexible drop-off and pickup is available from 8:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. A supervised before and after care program is also available from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. 

 

Don’t wait to sign up! Spots are still available for the following week-long programs:

 

Bust a Move (for ages four to seven years old)

Learn ballet, jazz and hip hop moves to perform in two different dances on Friday during an end-of-day recital. Arts and crafts, sing-songs and games compliment the dance instruction.

 

Dancing Chefs (for ages eight to 13 years old)

This premiere combo 'artsy' camp at the City’s Vaugan Metropolitan Centre recreation venue has all the sophistication and inspiration you’ll need to create your next masterpiece. Elevate your dishes by cooking in a gourmet teaching kitchen. Practise and perform in a dance studio alongside a mirrored wall and ballet barres. Modern makes time for traditional too, with traditional camp’ activities such as arts and crafts, games and sports.

Toon Animation (for ages six to 11 years old)

Delivered in Partnership with Kids Great Minds

With step-by-step guidance, you’ll unleash your creativity and master the 12 principles of animation to bring your stories and characters to life. Take part in an unforgettable experience where learning and imaginative expression will pop off the page, with a final showcase of the awesome animated movies at the conclusion of the program! 

March Madness: Senior (for ages seven to 12 years old)

Experience March Break to the max with five fun-filled days of camp activities! Campers will enjoy arts and crafts, sports, games, dancing, themed activities and outdoor play, weather permitting.

 

Sports All Day (for ages seven to 12 years old)

Take your game to the next level. Practice daily athletic drills and recreational scrimmaging in basketball, soccer, ball hockey and volleyball, with a focus on physical fitness, fair play and sportsmanship. Cooperative games complement the sports play.

 

Learn to Love Skate (for ages six to 12 years old)

Ice and fun, here we come!

 

Aqua Adventures (for ages seven to 12 years old)

Learn proper stroke techniques and water safety during daily swim instruction, followed by fun water play, including water polo, lifesaving sports, underwater hockey and recreational swimming. Campers can dry off with activities such as arts and crafts, games and outdoor sports.

 

Sticks and Steel (for ages six to 12 years old)

Does your child play house league hockey? Do you want them to develop their existing hockey skills in an affordable way? Through instruction and high tempo drills, this hockey camp gives players the best chance to develop basic skills such as stickhandling, making and receiving passes on both forehand and backhand, shooting, stride/edge control and skating speed.

Kool Holidays – inclusion (for ages 13 to 19 years old)

Spend the days swimming, creating arts and crafts, playing cooperative games and staying active with new friends. With a focus on improving social skills and friendship, experienced camp counsellors provide an intensive level of attention, support and encouragement.
