Ontario Municipal
Management Institute recognizes leadership
During a
recent City of Vaughan Committee of the Whole meeting, Mayor Maurizio
Bevilacqua delivered the following statement:
“Today,
I join my Council colleagues in congratulating two outstanding members of City
staff – Gus Michaels, Director of By-law and Compliance,
Licensing and Permit Services, and Italo Joe Luzi, Manager of Enforcement
Services, who have reached an executive-level designation in the field of
Municipal Law Enforcement and Property Standards from the Ontario Municipal
Management Institute.
“Our enforcement staff
uphold our by-laws and ensure a safe and orderly community for all who live,
work and play in Vaughan. Thanks to their dedicated efforts, our residents may
confidently go about their busy lives knowing that Vaughan’s experienced and
knowledgeable team remains dedicated to providing service excellence.
“We
know from our Citizen Satisfaction Survey that overall satisfaction with the
delivery of services provided is more than 90 per cent and overall quality-of-life
scores remain high at 97 per cent.
“Gus
Michaels and Italo Joe Luzi have answered the call of public service by
dedicating themselves to citizens of our municipality. They embody the best
that public servants can offer to their community by continuing to make
meaningful contributions to our ongoing city-building efforts.
“Once
again, on behalf of Council, I offer my congratulations for their dedicated
leadership and the positive example they have set in our community.”
