PSA: Make a difference by joining a City Task Force

The deadline to apply for a City of Vaughan task force has been extended to Friday, Sept. 13. As a Council-appointed task force member, you can help advise and inform the Mayor and Members of Council on relevant matters impacting your city and other citizens.  
 
Currently, Vaughan is seeking new members to participate in one of the following three areas:
 
Transportation and Infrastructure Task Force
  • Mandate: Assist the City in finding new and innovative ways to make Vaughan’s road network more reliable, efficient and sustainable for future growth. This includes developing transportation priorities and identifying new revenue sources.
  • Meetings: Every other month
  • Apply: Transportation and Infrastructure Task Force application package (PDF)
 Smart City Task Force
  • Mandate: Share ideas on how the City can use technology to enhance the quality of life for citizens. This includes participating in the development of a Smart City initiative and endorsing Smart City technologies.
  • Meetings: Quarterly

 Effective Governance and Oversight Task Force
  • Mandate: Make recommendations to further the City’s accountability, transparency and regulatory governance framework. This includes advocating for enhanced engagement with citizens, businesses and community stakeholders.
  • Meetings: Every other month

 Application packages and eligibility requirements for each task force are available in the Office of the City Clerk at Vaughan City Hall, 2141 Major Mackenzie Dr., at City of Vaughan public libraries and community centres, and online at vaughan.ca/council/committees.
 
Interested individuals must submit their application to the Office of the City Clerk by 4:30 p.m., Friday, Sept. 13. The application can also be submitted by email to clerks@vaughan.ca or by fax at 905-832-8535.
