Roads Closed For Safety Video Production
Filming of a safety video by the Vaughan Emergency Planning Department on April 10 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. will result in the following road closures:
• Intermittent closures of east and westbound Avro Road at Melville Avenue and Hawker Road.
• Traffic travelling south on Avro Road from Major Mackenzie Drive will be redirected to Hawker Road.
• Traffic on Caproni Drive will be redirected to travel east to Hawker Road.
• Right and left turns from Melville Avenue onto eastbound Avro Road will be suspended during filming.
• The traffic signal lights at Melville Avenue and Avro Road will be on extended red at times for east and westbound traffic on Avro Road.
• There will be lane restrictions on north and southbound Melville Avenue.
• Pedestrians on Avro Road and northbound Melville Avenue may be asked to wait while filming is occurring.
• Traffic travelling south on Avro Road from Major Mackenzie Drive will be redirected to Hawker Road.
• Traffic on Caproni Drive will be redirected to travel east to Hawker Road.
• Right and left turns from Melville Avenue onto eastbound Avro Road will be suspended during filming.
• The traffic signal lights at Melville Avenue and Avro Road will be on extended red at times for east and westbound traffic on Avro Road.
• There will be lane restrictions on north and southbound Melville Avenue.
• Pedestrians on Avro Road and northbound Melville Avenue may be asked to wait while filming is occurring.
Emergency vehicles will be travelling at or below the speed limit westbound on Avro Road. York Regional Police officers will be on scene to provide traffic control. During filming, residents may hear emergency vehicle sirens and horns and see flashing lights.
In the case of inclement weather on April 10, filming will be rescheduled for April 11 within the same time frame.
