Revitalized bowling alley will reopen on Monday, Nov. 15
Dust off your bowling shoes – the Maple Bowling Alley is re-opening! The facility recently underwent a renovation to offer a more modern and dynamic space for the community to play. The good times will roll at Maple’s four-lane, five-pin bowling alley when its lanes open on Monday, Nov. 15.
Located in the basement of the Maple Community Centre, the Maple Bowling Alley was originally built in 1989. At that time, it included a traditional four-lane, five-pin bowling alley, keypad scoring, manual bumpers and fixed, inaccessible seating.
An update was required to modernize the facility and meet the community’s demand for hosting private functions, birthday parties, leagues, social gatherings, summer camps and more. The City of Vaughan’s bowling alley revitalization included expanding the kitchen area, creating open and private seating options with accessible areas, fresh painting, a mural designed by a local Vaughan artist, and updated bowling equipment and lanes. New features include advanced pin-setting technology, gutters, automatic bumpers, synthetic lanes and surround sound speaks that bowlers can connect to wirelessly. All washrooms are now accessible and new accessibility features include automatic door operators, movable seating and ramps to bowling areas. The bowling alley’s existing layout was also reworked to provide a larger lane area, meet current accessibility requirements and fit modern fixtures and furniture. The space can accommodate up to 20 bowlers at a time.
Enjoy a family bowling night!
Dedicated timeslots are now available for families. This includes a minimum of one adult aged 18 years or older, with a maximum of six bowlers. Times are available Mondays and Tuesdays from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and on Fridays from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Registration is open 30 days in advance of the time slot. Cost is $25 per family. Host a bowling party!
