Are you an entrepreneur looking for support to turn your business idea into a reality? If so, here’s your opportunity to engage with technology industry experts and gain foundational knowledge for building a Smart Cities or IoT-based startup! The City of Vaughan’s Vaughan Business and Entrepreneurship Centre (VBEC), in partnership with York University’s YSpace, will be delivering the Venture Catalyst program to the Vaughan business community this fall.

The six-week training and mentorship program will support tech entrepreneurs to help test their startup ideas and bring them to life, and focus on the Smart Cities landscape and IoT-based technology. The program will provide participants with expert mentorship, interactive online workshops, a peer support network and additional resources to launch a successful business in the technology sector.

During the six-week programming period, participants will explore:

  • how to evaluate their product ideas.
  • customer development and how to create early traction.
  • how to build a sustainable business model.
  • proof-of-concept and how to create a viable prototype.
  • storytelling and how to develop key messaging.
  • how to set up the foundation for a product launch.

Interested in participating in the Venture Catalyst program? Learn more and submit your application at vaughanbusiness.ca/events by Sunday, Oct. 2.

Participants will also have the opportunity to apply for up to $5,000 in provincial grant funding with the Starter Company Plus program.
