Join us at City Hall on March 8 to honour the contributions of women

International Women’s Day has grown into a global day of recognition, acknowledgement and celebration of women that reflects upon their achievements and struggles. To commemorate this important occasion and honour the enduring contributions of women past, present and future, the City of Vaughan will host its annual International Women’s Day event in-person on Wednesday, March 8.

Mark your calendar! It will be held at Vaughan City Hall, 2141 Major Mackenzie Dr. W., from 9 a.m. to noon.

The theme for this year’s celebration is DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality. The event will feature a keynote address by Eugenia Addy, CEO of Visions of Science Network for Learning. The event will also include remarks from Mayor Steven Del Duca and a performance from singer Ida-Maria Carriero.

The City is also encouraging female-owned non-profit businesses and organizations to get involved. Owners are invited to set up a free display or booth during the event to showcase and sell their products. International Women’s Day is an important opportunity to reflect on women’s political, social and economic accomplishments in our communities, workplaces and lives. The City of Vaughan is blessed to have tremendous women leaders who pave the way for progress and inspire future generations to reach their full potential.
