Vaughan Makes Parking Permits Free and Available Online

​Visitors to the City of Vaughan can now apply for overnight on-street parking permits 24-hours a day on the City’s website. Permits obtained online, by telephone and in person at Vaughan City Hall are all free.

“This new service is all about ease and accessibility,” said Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua. “As a growing City, we’re committed to providing residents with innovative solutions to access the services they need in a fast and efficient manner. Not everyone can visit City Hall during regular business hours. These permits can now be obtained online in just a matter of minutes – at any time of day.


In addition to bringing the service online, the City of Vaughan has eliminated the $5.00 overnight parking permit fee. The City also increased the number of permits allowed each month – from five per household to five per vehicle. The permits can also be obtained in person at Vaughan City Hall or by telephone at no cost. 

Visitors who apply online for an overnight parking permit must complete an application form with a valid email address, vehicle license plate and street address. An email will then be sent to the applicant with a link to download the permit. Permits must be printed and placed on vehicle dashboards in order to be valid. 

“This is an efficient way to save our residents both time and money,” said City Manager Clayton Harris. “By bringing this application online, we’ve made obtaining a parking permit a 24-hour, seven day a week service. It’s a practical and convenient way for both residents and visitors to obtain the on-street parking permit they need.”
