Vaughan Playschool programs start on Jan. 6
Are you looking ahead to prepare your child for kindergarten but not sure where to start? The City of Vaughan is here to help! Vaughan Playschool is a positive play-based learning environment where your kids can develop a strong foundation before heading to school.
Programs are designed to foster a love for learning and nurture creativity and imagination through a variety of engaging activities, including:
- arts and crafts
- circle time
- drama
- games
- indoor play
- music
- storytime
Through fun and interactive play, your kids will learn age-appropriate math, reading, writing and science concepts, including letter and number recognition, simple vocabulary and about the world around them.
Vaughan Playschool offers classes designed to emulate a school environment, featuring extended 2½-hour sessions with small class sizes. This setup allows for personalized attention and a comfortable transition to the kindergarten routine.
Programming is available at six community centres across Vaughan for children aged 2½ to five, with junior and senior programs and specialties in math, reading and writing, science, French, Italian and Hebrew.
