City service changes and modified hours on Thursday, July 1

Canada Day is almost here! As citizens prepare to recognize the holiday, the City of Vaughan is reminding everyone of the following facility closures and modified hours on Thursday, July 1.

Municipal facilities
Most facilities – including Vaughan City Hall and the Joint Operations Centre – remain closed to the public until further notice in response to COVID-19. Essential services, such as fire and emergency response, and by-law and enforcement services, will continue uninterrupted on Canada Day. Non-essential administrative services will resume on Friday, July 2, by phone, email and online.

Community centres and recreational programming
Vaughan community centres remain closed until further notice due to Provincial COVID-19 restrictions. In addition, the vaccination clinics at Father E. Bulfon Community Centre and Maple Community Centre remain open by appointment only.

Outdoor in-person and virtual fitness classes will not be held on Thursday, July 1, and will resume on Friday, July 2. On Canada Day, residents can still enjoy a fun exercise session at home with the free full-length fitness classes (40- to 60-minutes long) available on the Recreation Services YouTube channel. For more information, visit vaughan.ca/recreation.

The Thornhill Outdoor Pool will be open for recreational and length swimming, and aquafitness on Canada Day. Pre-registration is required for all swims. For details visit vaughan.ca/swim.
