Vaughan donates $15,000 to support the people of Fort McMurray

Funds will go to the Canadian Red Cross Alberta Fires Appeal
 
The City of Vaughan announced a $15,000 donation to the Canadian Red Cross Alberta Fires Appeal following a Council-endorsed member’s resolution introduced by Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua. The funds will come from proceeds of the Mayor’s Gala and Golf Tournament to support the citizens of Fort McMurray, Alta. who have been forced from their homes by wildfires.

Victoria Day closures in Vaughan

​The Victoria Day long weekend marks the unofficial start of summer, so why not kick it off by getting outside and enjoying warmer weather. Before making plans, remember to check out the City of Vaughan’s facility closures during the holiday.

City of Vaughan municipal offices, including Vaughan City Hall and the Joint Operations Centre, will be closed for the holiday on Monday, May 23. Offices will reopen on Tuesday, May 24.

Vaughan community centres and Vaughan Animal Services will also be closed on Monday, May 23, reopening on Tuesday, May 24.
