Meet Vaughan’s Mayor for a Day!

Anna G. joins Mayor Del Duca for a day at City Hall

Congratulations to Anna G., the City of Vaughan’s Mayor for a Day contest winner for 2024!

As Vaughan’s Mayor … for a day, Anna spent today with Mayor Steven Del Duca at Vaughan City Hall, taking meetings, getting introduced to Members of Council and City staff, and seeing the municipal government in action. She also toured the building and attended today’s Committee of the Whole (1) meeting.

Join bike-themed events and activities all month long!

Get ready to ride! Bike Month is here, and the City of Vaughan is encouraging you to grab your bike, be active and ride around your neighbourhood.

Bike Month is an annual community-driven celebration that promotes cycling. It is recognized by many municipalities across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA) – including Vaughan and York Region. The City has celebrated Bike Month every June since 2014, when it was formally proclaimed. It provides an opportunity to get out on your bicycle, learn new skills and have some fun.

Fight the bite!

York Region provides tips to protect you from ticks

With the arrival of warm weather, more people are enjoying the great outdoors. It’s also a season to take precautions against blacklegged ticks and Lyme disease.

Blacklegged ticks are small bugs that feed off the blood of animals and humans. Adult ticks are the size of a sesame seed and nymphs (adolescent ticks) are no bigger than a poppy seed. Ticks attach themselves to people or animals who brush past them. Most tick bites are painless and they can feed for up to five days.
