International Women's Day

The City of Vaughan will host its annual International Women's Day Celebration on Wednesday, March 8th, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., at Vaughan City Hall. This event is an opportunity to celebrate women's and girls' achievements and observe the actions needed for more gender equality.

The event will include a keynote speaker, performances, and a networking space where women-owned businesses and start-ups can showcase their work and get to know what other female leaders and entrepreneurs are doing to drive transformative change in our city and region.

 

Event highlights

  • The theme for International Women’s Day, 8 March 2023 (IWD 2023) is, “DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality” to celebrate the women and girls who are championing the advancement of transformative technology and digital education.
  • Dr. Eugenia Addy will be the keynote speaker for the City of Vaughan’s International Women’s Day event. Dr. Addy is a Canadian chemist who has dedicated her life educating present and future generations in the STEM field through her own experience and as the CEO of Visons of Science Network for Learning (VoSNL). Click here to learn more about Dr. Addy’s Bio
  • Musical performance by Ida-Maria Carriero, Founder of Youth2Youth Global, Singer, Songwriter and Mental health advocate
