During the Canada Post labour disruption, some City of Vaughan services and programs may be affected. The City is committed to ensuring that residents and businesses are able to access services and programs with minimal disruption.

Contingency plans are in place to provide alternative options for items normally delivered and received by mail. Residents and businesses with questions about City services and programs that are affected by the Canada Post labour disruption can contact Service Vaughan at 905-832-2281 or service@vaughan.ca

You can also complete an online request or report an issue with a City service, 24 hours a day, seven days a week at vaughan.ca/ServiceVaughan.

Accounts payable

Vendors who want to pick up cheques can go to the Service Vaughan desk on the main floor at Vaughan City Hall (2141 Major Mackenzie Dr.). From there, they will be directed to the third-floor counter to pick up their cheque.

Council and Committees of Council

Statutory Public Notices for upcoming Council and Committees are available online on the City’s Public Notices webpage.

Land Use Planning and Committee of Adjustment Notice of Public Meeting

Statutory Notices for Planning and Committee of Adjustment applications will continue to be posted online, and a physical sign will still be posted on the property. If you have any questions, please contact clerks@vaughan.ca or cofa@vaughan.ca. You can view all Land Use Planning and Committee of Adjustment notices by visiting the City’s Public Notices webpage

Resident requests

Residents looking for City literature, tax applications, a waste collection schedule or other information, can visit vaughan.ca or the Service Vaughan counter to pick up the requested documents. Alternatively, submit a request via email at service@vaughan.ca and an electronic copy will be sent to you.

Penalty notices

During the Canada Post labour disruption, City-issued penalty notices, i.e. tickets, will not be issued late penalties, tax implications or plate cancellations. Once the disruption has resolved, aging of notices will resume.

Property taxes

Cheques mailed to the City for property taxes may be delayed. Residents are encouraged to  use one of the other convenient ways to pay their property taxes as payments remain due and payable by their respective due dates.

  • In person at the Service Vaughan counter located on the main level of City Hall
  • Pre-authorized payment plans, including a six-instalment and a 10-instalment option.
  • Post-dated cheques made payable to the City of Vaughan that correspond with the amounts and due dates printed on the tax stubs.
  • Financial institutions, either in person, through the bank machine, online or via telephone.
  • At City Hall, placed in marked drop-off boxes at each entrance which are available 24 hours a day.
