Attend an upcoming hiring event for recreation program instructors and summer camp counsellors

 

Spring is here, and the City of Vaughan is preparing for fun in the sun by hiring for recreation program and fitness instructors and summer camp counsellors.

 

Youth aged 16 years and older are invited to bring their resume to an upcoming hiring event for part-time program and fitness instructors to teach spring and summer recreation programs at select community centres! Additionally, the City is hiring summer camp counsellors and integration camp counsellors to work full-time hours in July and August at select community centres, heritage homes and green spaces – including the newly renovated Garnet A. Williams Community Centre, reopening summer 2023.

Once you have registered, a Recreation Services staff member will call you to co-ordinate an interview time and email you any required information. Walk-in interviews will also be accommodated.

 

Compensation includes:

  • program instructors: $15.50 to $19.85 per hour, depending on the position
  • fitness instructors: $22 to $26 per hour, depending on the position
  • Integration Camp Counsellors: $17 per hour
  • Community Day Program Assistants: $18 per hour

 

Successful candidates will be hired on the spot. It is highly recommended that candidates come prepared with the following documents: 

  • resume 
  • Standard First Aid award (can obtain upon hire) 
  • Vulnerable Sector Check (can obtain upon hire) 
  • three references (names, phone numbers and emails) 
  • Social insurance number 
  • emergency contact (name and phone numbers) 
  • bank information (void cheque OR printout from their bank – bank name, branch number, institution number and account number)
