There is an Open House on March 24 to share project details

We’re working to improve Kleinburg Village – and construction will resume this spring to bring roadway and streetscaping enhancements, new cycle paths (outside the village core) and more to the area.

Want to learn more about the work planned for this year? We’re hosting a third Open House on Monday, March 24 at the Kleinburg Library (10341 Islington Ave.). Drop by anytime from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. to hear the upcoming scope of work, construction timelines, impacts and more. Support resources for local businesses will also be handed out.

Here are some frequently asked questions about the project:

Why is Kleinburg Village being improved?

The Kleinburg Village corridor and the surrounding area have rapidly changed in the last decade with high-density development, including residential and mixed-use buildings, resulting in a larger urbanized area. The City is undertaking the Kleinburg Village Improvements Project to address this growth and ensure municipal infrastructure can continue to support the community for years to come. The project area extends along Islington Avenue from Major Mackenzie Drive to Highway 27, along Nashville Road from Highway 27 to Islington Avenue, and along Stegman’s Mill Road from Islington Avenue to Teston Road.

What work has been completed so far?

We’ve completed important underground infrastructure improvements such as watermain replacements, temporary parking and sidewalk construction.

Will businesses stay open during construction?

Yes! Kleinburg Village remains open for business. You are encouraged to continue to support local stores, restaurants and organizations throughout construction. Alternate temporary parking will be made available just north of the Village and at the Kleinburg Public School when the work begins. The City’s Vaughan Business and Entrepreneurship Centre has developed an online resource for businesses impacted – explore it at vaughanbusiness.ca/ConstructionSupport.
