What is a stormwater management facility?

Stormwater management facilities include wet ponds, dry ponds, wetlands, underground storage chambers and other stormwater infrastructure implemented to drain stormwater runoff.

Why are they needed?

A stormwater management facility reduces volume, flow rates and pollutants from stormwater runoff.

Which facilities are being improved?

As part of the City of Vaughan’s Stormwater Management Facility Improvements Program, infrastructure enhancements are underway at various locations across the City – including the following five sites within Rainbow Creek Park:

  • Site 13 (located at Northlane Road, Roxanne Avenue, Woodbridge Avenue and Martin Grove Road)
  • Site 18 and Site 22 (both located at Houston Road and Moonstone Place)
  • Site 20 (located at Highway 7 and Rainbow Drive)
  • Site 25 (located at Mapes Park, Brasswinds Court and Arran Crescent)
