Vaughan honoured for communications excellence

The City wins four prestigious Communicator Awards for 2024

 

The City of Vaughan’s Communications, Marketing and Engagement department is once again being recognized for achieving excellence in this field after winning several Communicator Awards

 

The Communicator Awards is dedicated to recognizing excellence, effectiveness and innovation across all areas of communication. It is the leading international awards program honouring talent in this highly competitive field. The City’s Communications, Marketing and Engagement department received four Communicator Awards in 2024.

 

The department won one Award of Excellence for the 2022-2026 Strategic Plan Design in the Campaign-Brochure or Pamphlet Series category.

 

In addition, three Awards of Distinction were received for:

  • the Vaughan Fire and Rescue Service Chief’s 2023 Monthly Articles in the Series-Column or Editorial Series category.
  • the Waste Less Monday’s social campaign in the Campaigns and Series-Educational and Instructional category.
  • the Food in Canada campaign for the Series-Business-to-Business category.

 

The Award of Excellence, the highest honor, is given to those entrants whose ability to communicate positions them as the best in the field. The Award of Distinction is presented to projects that exceed industry standards in quality and achievement. 

 

Vaughan’s Communications, Marketing and Engagement department, based in the Office of Communications and Economic Development, employs various communications methods to keep the community in the know, including daily media products, proactive media outreach, eNewsletters, social media, website content, mailers, signage and much more. That is in addition to extensive internal communications efforts for staff. Along with keeping Vaughan residents and businesses informed and engaged, the department uses compelling visuals and strategic storytelling to keep the community informed. The City’s contact centre – Service Vaughan – is also an integral part of this department.
