Vaughan’s hiring winter recreation program instructors!

Registration is now open for the City’s virtual hiring event on Nov. 19

 

With winter around the corner, the City of Vaughan is getting ready for an exciting lineup of recreation programs – and that includes hiring new staff to lead the sessions, starting in January 2023! Join us on Saturday, Nov. 19 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for a virtual hiring event to fill positions for part-time program instructors at local community centres. 

To be considered, register for the Recreation Program Virtual Hiring Event at vaughan.perfectmind.com by Friday, Nov. 11. Qualified candidates will be contacted to book an online interview time. Each interview will be 20 minutes. 

Program instructors will teach a broad range of programs this winter. Individuals ages 16 years and older with specialized skills in the following areas are encouraged to apply: 

  • dance
  • skating
  • sports (basketball and pickleball)
  • tai chi 

Daytime, evening and weekend shifts are available, depending on the position. Compensation varies by position and ranges from $15 to $19.85 per hour.

The City is also looking for lifeguards to work daytime shifts at pools across Vaughan. Qualified lifeguards are encouraged to register for one of the following in-water interviews at vaughan.perfectmind.com: 

Dufferin Clark Pool   
Tuesday, Nov. 15 and Tuesday, Dec. 6 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.   

Woodbridge Pool   
Tuesday, Nov. 29 and Thursday, Dec. 15 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.  

Recreation Services is a major youth employer with close to 1,000 part-time staff – mainly students.
