Zoran Postic Appointed as New City Manager for Vaughan

Following an extensive public recruitment process and in consultation with Members of Council, Mayor Steven Del Duca is pleased to announce the appointment of Zoran Postic as the new City Manager, effective October 7th, 2024. With over 25 years of diverse leadership experience at the local, regional, private, and community levels, Mr. Postic brings a wealth of expertise and a proven track record of success in public service management.

As Vaughan’s Deputy City Manager of Public Works, Mr. Postic led a team of 480 in delivering essential services, including winter maintenance, water safety, road upkeep, and park cleanliness. He pioneered the Vaughan Innovators program, a citywide initiative that empowered front-line staff to contribute to process improvements. This initiative earned prestigious awards such as the John Niedra Better Practices Award from the Ontario Good Roads Association (OGRA) and the Canadian Association of Municipal Administrators’ (CAMA) Professional Development Award.

Mr. Postic’s leadership in developing a long-term performance-based contract for winter services earned the Peter J. Marshall Innovation Award from the Association of Municipalities of Ontario and the SMART50 Award for the City’s Winter Maintenance Salt Optimization program.

With a focus on collaboration, strong communication, and conflict resolution, Mr. Postic has demonstrated a commitment to fostering a positive work culture. Under his leadership, staff engagement has seen a significant increase, from 45% in 2015 to 70% in 2022, leading to higher citizen satisfaction across several service areas.

The City Manager is supported by the corporation’s Senior Leadership Team – Executive. Mr. Postic will be instrumental in overseeing the 2022-2026 Term of Council Service Excellence Strategic Plan.
