Simcoe Day is just around the corner, which means you may be getting ready to enjoy the long weekend. But before making holiday plans, the City of Vaughan is reminding everyone of facility closures, modified hours and alternate programming on Monday, Aug. 7. Here is all you need to know to plan ahead so you can spend quality time with family, friends and loved ones.
Municipal facilities
The City of Vaughan’s 29th annual Vaughan Celebrates Concerts in the Park series presented by TD and event sponsor Tim Hortons is preparing to wrap up for the season!
The final concert is on Wednesday, Aug. 2 at North Thornhill Community Centre (outdoor amphitheatre), 300 Pleasant Ridge Ave., featuring Simply Queen – Tribute to Queen, from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., weather permitting. ‘The show must go on’ so, get ready for an evening of live music and fun!
There’s a new place to play in Vaughan! The City of Vaughan is officially opening Alouette Common – and you’re invited to come check it out!
This new Ward 4 park features a large junior playground area, a large senior playground area, a large shade structure with seating, walkway lighting and an open lawn area for unstructured play activities.
