Vaughan’s 11th fire station set to open in 2026

Work begins on the City of Vaughan’s newest fire hall, Fire Station 7-12! 

Today, the City and Vaughan Fire and Rescue Service officially broke ground at 9511 Weston Rd. to mark the start of construction for the City’s 11th fire station. Mayor Steven Del Duca, Members of Council, VFRS Chief Andrew Zvanitajs and City staff were in attendance for this city-building milestone that will enhance fire safety for everyone who lives in the area. 

The time to give thanks with loved ones is just around the corner! Before making plans for the Thanksgiving holiday, please be aware of the following City of Vaughan facility closures and modified hours on Monday, Oct. 14.

Let’s work together to keep Vaughan clean

As you’re out enjoying the city’s many parks and open spaces this fall, remember to do your part to keep our neighbourhoods safe, clean and beautiful. 

Vaughan Animal Services (VAS) is dedicated to creating a safe community for pets and their owners – which includes offering microchipping services and rabies vaccines. 

Book an appointment to bring your pets to the microchip and rabies clinic at the Vaughan Animal Shelter (located at 70 Tigi Crt., Unit 47) on Sunday, Oct. 27 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call the City of Vaughan at 905-832-2281 to schedule your timeslot. Walk-ins will not be accepted. 

Chanukah Celebration and Menorah Lighting Ceremony

Traditional Stormwater Management Facilities (SWMFs), such as stormwater management ponds, have been in existence since the early 1980s. These traditional SWMFs are commonly referred to as Conventional SWMFs and have predominantly been the type of SWMFs maintained by the City of Vaughan for new developments.
