It’s time for Double-Up Days!

Place up to six garbage items curbside

 

Your opportunity to get rid of extra waste has arrived: Double-Up Days are back this week or next, depending on your scheduled garbage collection day! This means instead of a three-item garbage limit, you can place up to six items at the curb with no paid garbage tags required. And remember, household waste does not belong in parks or open spaces.

 

Future Improvements to McNaughton Road West

Improvements are being proposed for McNaughton Road West – and you can help inform them! Through a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment Study, the City of Vaughan is assessing potential improvements to McNaughton Road West between Major Mackenzie Drive and Falvo Street – which could include adding sidewalks, cycling facilities, trail connections and more.

The Thornhill Outdoor Pool opens on June 17

 

Summer is almost here, which means it’s nearly time to dive back into the outdoor pool! Starting Saturday, June 17, the City of Vaughan’s Thornhill Outdoor Pool, located at 26 Old Yonge St., opens for the summer on a modified schedule. Join us on opening day to enjoy music, water games and free freezies (while supplies last)!

 

Temporary burn ban lifted in Vaughan

VFRS reminds everyone to exercise caution with outdoor fires
 

Due to the improving weather conditions, Vaughan Fire and Rescue Service (VFRS) has lifted the temporary burn ban put in place on June 6.

 

Although the ban has been lifted, VFRS is advising you to continue to exercise caution when conducting permitted open-air burning, and using outdoor firepits and barbecues.
