Vaughan to host annual Black History Month event tomorrow!

Celebrate Black Canadians at Vaughan City Hall on Feb. 22 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. 

 

Black Canadians and communities have been vital in shaping Canada’s heritage, culture and identity. The City of Vaughan has proclaimed February as Black History Month, a celebration that brings people together to pay tribute to the remarkable Black Canadians who have made a positive and enduring impact in the community, and highlight the richness of Black cultures and histories.

Following the recent major winter storms, the City of Vaughan’s crews continue cleanup efforts to address the large accumulation of snowfall – including on sidewalks throughout the community. Residents walking to school or work are urged to add extra time to their commute and take precautions on sidewalks. 

 

Engineering Month

The City’s Infrastructure Development and Public Works portfolios are hosting an Open House from 9:00 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Vaughan Room to mark National Engineering Month, which is held every March.

The event will highlight exciting projects, the critical and diverse roles Vaughan’s engineers play in building and shaping the city, and women’s contributions to the field. There will also be snacks, swag and prizes to be won!
