Waste collection update – Feb. 23

Ensure snow is not covering waste bins or bags, and keep them off snowbanks


Vaughan is once again blanketed in snow, and, while it may be pretty, it can impact curbside waste collection. The City of Vaughan is working hard to collect waste quickly and efficiently. Keep in mind, waste bins or bags buried in snow, frozen to the ground, on top of or behind snowbanks will not be collected. Crews cannot return for bins or bags that are not accessible for collection.

City achieves impressive 94 per cent satisfaction rating

The results are in and Vaughan residents and businesses are very satisfied with the quality of life here as well as the programs and services the City provides!

The City’s latest Citizen and Business Surveys, conducted by Forum Research in November and December 2022, reveal the City of Vaughan is delivering on its mission of citizens first through Service Excellence.

Provincial Policy Context

The Province has taken a bold step and created a suite of tools that will help municipalities plan for and achieve more efficient land use. These tools include: The Oak Ridges Moraine Conservation Plan and Greenbelt Plan, Places to Grow: the Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe, and The Regional Transportation Plan. The Province requires that all upper and lower-tier municipal official plans to conform with these provincial policies.
