Vaughan’s Deputy City Manager of Planning and Growth Management named Chief Executive Officer of the TRCA

The City of Vaughan’s Deputy City Manager of Planning and Growth Management, John MacKenzie, is taking on the role of Chief Executive Officer with the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) later this year.
 
Mr. MacKenzie joined the City in June 2011 as Commissioner of Planning and in September 2015 was appointed to the role of Deputy City Manager of Planning and Growth Management.

Mayor Bevilacqua condemns hate crime

Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua has issued the following statement.
 
“I have recently become aware that the incident at Woodbridge College last week extended beyond anti-Semitism and also targeted the black and LGBTQ communities. This hateful and cowardly vandalism is completely unacceptable. To reiterate, I strongly condemn all acts of racism and homophobia. Any form of discrimination will not be tolerated in our city.”

Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua has issued the following statement.
"Today is truly a special day – Canada is turning 150. From coast to coast, Canadians will unite to celebrate all that is wonderful about our great nation. Here in Vaughan, we will be hosting one of the largest events in our history at Boyd Conservation Area. Entertainment starts at noon and continues until 10 p.m. featuring many attractions, including a headline performance by Coleman Hell.
