Mayor's Gala Celebrates 'A New Attitude' in Vaughan
The 2012 Mayor's Gala will celebrate the new attitude and energy in the City of Vaughan. The Gala is the City’s premier annual fundraising event and proceeds will help support Vaughan’s not-for-profit and community organizations.

The City of Vaughan will host its 18th annual Concerts in the Park series beginning on Tuesday, June 19, 2012. Presented by TD and the event sponsor Tim Hortons, five free concerts are being staged in local parks across the City.

During Italian Heritage Month in June, residents and visitors are invited to view Italian-Canadian cultural heritage exhibits on display in the atrium of Vaughan City Hall.

Exhibits include:
• A pictorial exhibit, entitled “Immigration Passo dopo Passo,” examines the historical journey of Italian citizens’ integration and immigration to Canada, presented by the AMICI Museum and Italian-Canadian Archive Project.
Youth Forum Empowers Girls in Vaughan
The second annual Girl Power Youth Forum was held recently at the Vellore Village Community Centre in Vaughan. The forum, hosted by the City of Vaughan in collaboration with York Regional Police, brought together 75 girls from secondary schools across Vaughan to discuss relevant youth topics.
