Don’t let the Grinch or a fire get in the way of carving your prime rib or glazed ham! To help you have a safe and happy holiday, Vaughan Fire and Rescue Service (VFRS) is reminding residents of some important holiday fire-safety tips. 

When cooking your holiday meal, follow these tips to ensure it goes off without a hitch:

Learn more about requesting a City flag-raising, illumination or proclamation


Do you represent an organization that is advancing a cause that requires greater public awareness? Or does your association have a special event taking place in 2022 that celebrates the diversity, heritage and culture of the community? Submit a request to have an observance commemorated with a flag-raising, illumination or proclamation from the City of Vaughan.  

Watch the virtual Order of Vaughan ceremony TONIGHT – Dec. 21 – at 7 p.m.

Mayor Bevilacqua to bestow the City’s highest civic honour to six deserving individuals during a virtual ceremony
 

Tonight at 7 p.m., Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua will preside over the City’s virtual Order of Vaughan investiture ceremony and appoint six people to the Order of Vaughan for 2021. This is the highest civic honour the City may bestow on individuals who exemplify extraordinary citizenship and better the community.
