Adventure awaits at Vaughan’s P.A. Day camps!
Do your kids have plans for the upcoming P.A Day? Keep them busy by signing them up for one of the City of Vaughan‘s programs or camps! On Friday, Sept. 27, kids aged three to 14 years old can join us for plenty of learning and fun at select community centres and the Vaughan Studios & Event Space. Programs and camps include:
School’s Out! (for ages seven to 12 years old)
Looking for a fun way to spend your P.A. Day? Enjoy a day of camp activities, including games, sports, arts and crafts, outdoor play and special events while making new friends!
AI Ignite: Junior (for ages six to eight years old)
Delivered in partnership with Logic Fusion
Discover the fascinating field of artificial intelligence and its potential to solve real-world problems while learning the basics. Create your own machine-learning models to classify images, predict labels, and use computer vision. No prior experience with AI is required.
Cartoon Computer Animation (for ages six to 11 years old)
Delivered in partnership with Kids Great Minds
Dive into STEAM and the creative world of cartoon animation! Bring your stories to life: learn the basics of animation design to experience what a great animator you can become! Work in a guided and computerized environment to express yourself through animated storylines. Learn storyboarding, create short computer animated cartoons, television shows or movies, and develop logical thinking skills.
Roblox Game Design: Mario Galaxy (for ages eight to 14 years old)
Delivered in partnership with Logic Fusion
Let's-a go! Jump into Roblox Studio to design your own Mario Galaxy-style game, creating brand new worlds you can play in with your friends and family! Build a Mario Galaxy-like 3D platforming game where Mario will have to beat smart enemies, overcome obstacles, and earn power-ups along the way.
Babysitting Basics (for ages 11 to 14 years old)
Learn some must-have babysitting skills before your first job, including: basic first aid, how to respond to an emergency, dealing with difficult behaviour in a positive way. Build confidence, communication and leadership skills, so you can be the best babysitter.
Paint Your Own Pottery: Zoo Animals (for ages three to 14 years old)
Delivered in partnership with Mess for Fun
All fired up to create beautiful art on your day off school? Paint your own one-of-a-kind piece of pottery. Apply your unique artistic style with pottery paint and leave your finished creative gem with us. Afterwards, we will glaze and fire your pottery in a kiln. The completed masterpiece will be packaged and ready for pick-up the following week at your respective community centre.
