Celebrate Canada Day with Vaughan

Sam Roberts Band to headline the festivities at Boyd Conservation Area


No plans for Canada Day? You have them now!

 

Bring your family and friends to Vaughan’s award-winning Canada Day celebration on Saturday, July 1 at Boyd Conservation Area (8739 Islington Ave.) from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., headlined by Sam Roberts Band!

 

To mark Canada’s 156th birthday, this fun-filled free event will include live entertainment, activities, food vendors, a business zone and much more. Stage entertainment will start at 11:30 a.m. with an official welcome from Mayor Steven Del Duca and Members of Council at 6:30 p.m. Food trucks will also be on-site so you can snack all day and night.

There will also be many activities to enjoy, including:

  • airbrush tattoos
  • archery
  • axe throwing (for people over 12 years old) and inflatable axe throwing (all ages)
  • LEGO and EverBlock building station
  • Monkey Movers gymnastics obstacle course
  • ping pong and foosball tables
  • selfie and photo opportunities
  • stilt walkers and kids’ favourite characters
  • Talking Treaties: artful explorations of local Indigenous and treaty history with Jumblies Theatre
  • touch-a-truck
  • Vaughan camp activities zone
  • We Got Game! video gaming stations

 

Parking is limited. You are encouraged to ride the free shuttle bus with services running from Al Palladini Community Centre, Dufferin Clark Community Centre, Vaughan City Hall and the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre to Boyd Conservation Area. The service will run regularly from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. that day.
